[Editor’s Note]

The idea of a place to record and post Pastor Paul’s devotionals was mine. For many years he would teach these lessons to his kids. Then later, he wrote them out at the request of his wife so she could lead her fellow inmates in Bible studies. Pastor Paul has a heart for people cultivated by his ten plus years in prison, and it comes out in the testimonies of different individuals who passed through his cell over the years. My wife and I have two such living examples of Pastor Paul’s ministry living with us, enjoying the opportunity to restart their lives.

Other than this note, all of the content is from Pastor Paul. The Blog section is a random collection of Pastor Paul’s thoughts, sermon notes and musings. The Daily Lessons are an organized study of the Bible for those who don’t have any idea what the Bible is all about and perhaps those who want to retrace their journey with God from the beginning. Pastor Paul is genuine, non-denominational and relatable. He welcomes correspondence and aspires to connect with anyone who has a sincere desire to walk with God.

It would be normal to question someone who is in prison, convicted by our legal system. But this has both Biblical and historical precedence. The Apostle Paul wrote many letters from his prison cell in Rome. During the 17th century, John Bunyan penned the classic, “A Pilgrims Progress” from his English prison. Pastor Paul has pursued his ordination from prison, and is working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry. His heart is to help people, not to gain notoriety, praise, or credentials for their own sake. Paul is his middle name, and the one he goes by within the prison walls. The material is inspired by “Firm Foundations: Creation to Christ” by New Tribes Mission and is available on Amazon here.

I have been a believer in Jesus for longer than Pastor Paul, but I have been so blessed by transcribing these lessons. I sincerely hope you will also be blessed and encouraged in your walk with God as you follow your own path in building a relationship with God, the Father; His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; with the help of the Holy Spirit.
