A Timeless God - Day 2

"Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am He: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." Isaiah 43:10-11

The Bible is the very breath of God, speaking the very Word of God, kept by the very Spirit of God, forever. And He tells us over and over that He is eternal. It is significant that the Bible opens with these words, “In the beginning, God created…” Genesis 1:1. Everything but God was created by God. God is the only uncreated! There was no beginning to God. He has always existed. There will be no end to God. He will always exist. We, as part of God’s creation, have a beginning. We are born, grow old and die. The word “beginning” doesn’t apply to God. It is a creature word, as described by A.W. Tozer, and it applies to us. God was before the beginning. Before the beginning there was only God. God existed before He created time. God was there before he created outer space.

Before the beginning there was no time, no space, no universe, no atoms, no earth. Absolutely nothing existed but God in His own glorious light by His own mighty power! Nowhere in the Bible does God argue his existence. The Bible opens, simply stating, that God was already there. God is the great reality. The first verse of the Bible plainly tells us that before anything was created, God was already there. God is, God was, and God will ever be!

“The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God." Psalm 14:1. In this verse God gives us His perspective on those who deny Him. God says only fools deny His existence. Notice that it says, “in his heart”. With my mouth I may say I believe in God. But do my deeds line up? My belief or unbelief in God will be evident to all by my deeds. My belief in God cannot be hid, for it will overflow from my heart by my deeds, which are my thoughts, words, and actions. Conversely, my unbelief in God can’t be hid either, for what is in my heart will spill out to those around me. What do we believe? We believe God’s Word, the Bible, because the Bible is the very Breath of God, speaking the very Word of God, and kept by the very Spirit of God, forever! And God tells us that He is eternal.

“Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.” Psalm 90:2

"Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established." Proverbs 16:3

“Thank you, Father, for revealing to me who you are. Fill my mouth with the praise of your Holy Name. Amen.”
